Dr. Sanjay Kumar Chugh is a world renowned Interventional Cardiologist. He is currently Chief Interventional Cardiologist , HOD Cardiology & Chairman Cardiovascular Sciences (Interventional cardiology consultants Inc.). Dr Chugh has over twenty-five years’ of experience in Clinical Cardiology, sixteen years of which have been in Interventional Cardiology. He is a pioneer in and internationally renowned for Transradial Angiography and Angioplasty, a painless technique done through the wrist.
After working as a Registrar in Cardiology in London UK , and training in Radial at Toulouse France he worked as Clinician in Interventional Cardiology at St George`s Hospital London UK. Subsequently He was a fellow in Interventional Cardiology at the renowned Heart Attack Center in University of Calgary , Alberta, Interventional Cardiology Fellow at the world renowned St Paul`s Hospital Vancouver , University of BC, Interventional Cardiology Fellow at the dedicated Radial center at Royal Jubilee Hospital , Victoria BC. Dr Chugh joined Fortis Escorts Hospital, New Delhi in 2002. He shared dual appointments both as the Head of Cardiology, Chief Cardiologist at Fortis Kalyani Hospital, Gurgaon as well as Principal Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Fortis Escorts Hospital, New Delhi and Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurgaon.
Dr. Chugh has performed over 20,000 cardiac invasive procedures which include Percutaneous Coronary Interventions, both transfemoral and transradial, Acute Myocardial Infarction Interventions, Primary PTCAs, Peripheral Angioplasties, Containment/Embolic protection devices (IVC Filters), Valvuloplasty, ASD closures and groin closures. He is also well versed in Clinical and Emergency Cardiology, CCU Care and non-invasive Cardiology.
